The following have been stated as side effect in clinical trials or in the routine treatment of patients treated with Ranitidine - ZANTAC. In many cases the results are unclear in which patients are treated by ZANTAC whereas in some rare cases severe headache is caused by ZANTAC. There are many side effects that can be felt by the patient and in that case they should inform the doctor immediately like, light headedness and hallucination occur rarely in old patient who are already ill. While some sometimes can experience problems while sleeping and waking up.

Some patients have reported excessive strokes of insomnia. Change in room can help to avoid the double vision. Nausea, indigestion and abdominal pain can be felt in some patient. There are very rare cases in which death can be possible like if hepatitis and jaundice is caused after starting Ranitidine - ZANTAC, than patient should immediately stop the intake of it. Rash and redness of skin can be found in some cases. The above mentioned side effects are dangerous in many cases but all of these may or may not occur in everyone. Despair and angry feeling can be caused by long term use of this medicine. Other has reported a decrease in their sex drive (impotence). Still others have gone on to describe that they have at certain points experienced sudden and partial impotence due to the use of this drug. On the other hand there is a more serious array of side effects of Ranitidine that has been reported and it is suggested that if any of these side effects were to occur then the use of this drug is to be stopped.
